Physicochemical Property
Sorbitol is a sugar alcohol being either white crystal powder or colorless liquid. It is very easy to be dissolved in water, slightly soluble in ethanol and acetic acid, insoluble in organic solvents. It has no smell and contained a taste of cooling sweetness. Sorbitol is about 50%--70% as sweet as sucrose and contains the same heat value. It can be used as a sugar replacement in various applications.
Product Features
Sorbitol has the chemical property of polyhydric alcohols. It can be oxidized, lipideds and dehydrated. It is both acid and heat resistant and will not cause Maillard reaction with amino acids and protein. The γ--crystal sorbitol is blessed with stability, high melting point, and resistance to moisture absorption together with characteristics of tablets able to be directly pressed.
